Arriving into Paris at 630am as you can imagine after a 26 hour flight, you are praying for the creature comforts to be ready. However when these are not available, what do you do? Get out and find yourself a café.
There are plenty of cafes around, but one that stood out is café "Le Carrousel" which offers friendly staff, the perfect coffee and fluffy crepes; perfect for that early morning boost. While enjoying breakfast, you can sit near the window and watch the Parisian people start their day while overlooking the infamous Louvre and the stunning gardens of Tuileries.
Making your way to the Louvre, keep in mind that the first Sunday of the month, the Louvre and many other famous attractions are free for everyone. Getting in early is ideal as it means a much shorter line at the entrance. Be sure to grab yourself a map and start making your way straight to the Mona Lisa before the crowds flock through. From there you can discover Italian, Spanish and English and French art and paintings which can not be found anywhere else in the world. Make sure you check out the Napoleon III apartments to see first hand how royalty truly lives. To discover the Louvre in it's entirely would take over 2-3 days. However be selective and plan well and you can leave there feeling you have seen and embraced an amazing exhibition of world history.

After lunch, its time to see the Eiffel Tower and this can be achieved by jumping on the metro, which from the Louvre is a short ten minute journey. There are several opportunities to grab that perfect photo before you make your way to purchase your ticket (EUR13) giving you access to the top viewing deck of the Eiffel Tower.
From the Eiffel Tower take a short walk to the river Seine where you can board one of many river tours, with the cheapest one being EUR11 for a quick one hour cruise. This is a great way of discovering Paris from a different perspective taking in many famous sites including the Cathedral of Notre Dam and over 11 bridges. The guided tour will inform you on the histories of each site, be on the lookout for "The New Bridge, which is actually the oldest bridge in Paris.

As the sun has gone down, the choice is yours to either jump into a taxi and head to the Champs Elysees or walk into the multitude of designer stores before. For the avid shopper, note that these shops are open till midnight.
Then on your way back to the hotel, take the taxi around the Arc de Triomphe and the Prime Ministers home for a glimpse of the attractions lit up at night.
