US Airways Launches In-flight Wireless Internet

Thursday, 8 April 2010

US Airways has announced the launch of a new wireless In-flight Internet product: Gogo In-flight Internet. The wireless connection will be available on five of US Airways’ Airbus A321 aircrafts. With this new feature, which has been developed by Aircell, passengers will now be able to use their laptop or mobile internet to access the web during their flight.

US Airways have plans to install Gogo Internet systems in all 51 A321s by June 1. By late June this year, passengers will have the option to verify whether Wi-Fi will be available on their flight when they book on www.usairways.com.

With the launch of this new addition to the US Airways aircrafts, US Airways is giving customers the chance to test it out for free. Travellers who create a new profile with Gogo, from now until June 1, will be given one free online session. The airline will also be providing free Gogo access to customers who fly on a Wi-Fi equipped US Airways flight from June 1 until June 8, in celebration of the installation of Gogo on the entire fleet.

Prices for wireless in-flight services start from $4.95 for ½ session, and vary according to flight length and the type of device used.

US Airways operates more than 3,000 flights per day and serves more than 190 communities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, the Caribbean, Central and South America. It is a member of the Star Alliance network, which offers its customers more than 19,700 daily flights to 1,077 airports in 175 countries.
