Travel Counsellors Sales Surge

Travel Counsellors has reported booming sales in Australia for the first quarter of 2010, with annualised sales reaching almost $40.0 million.

The company’s finalised sales for the period ended 31 March are up by 105% over the previous year, with revenue up almost 120% and an overall increase in margin in excess of 10% compared with 2009. Forward sales are strong with new bookings up a staggering 200+% over the last quarter and just over 150% for the last six months. Average booking values are also up by over 25%.

Travel Counsellors General Manager Peter Watson comments; “We have seen a continuation of the dramatic increase in sales and sales value that was evident through the last quarter of last year. These are all very positive signs and show that our focus on customer service, building relationships and providing unique added value, is ensuring that our sales remain strong and our customers keep coming back to us.”

Watson adds; “Our sales growth is solid over all areas with European Coach Holidays up by almost 190%; European Rail by 90% and European Car Hire by almost 120%; all major destinations are showing growth with short haul to Fiji and the South pacific especially strong. We are particularly pleased with our growth in cruise sales over the period where our numbers have more than doubled over the same period last year.”

Recruiting (of new Travel Counsellors) continues to be strong and the company is ahead of targets in all areas for 2010. “These figures reflect a strong and viable business model that offers a unique opportunity for experienced travel professionals to run their own business and reap the benefits and the lifestyle balance that a Travel Counsellors Franchise offers” said Watson.
