This month Malaysia was host to the very first exclusive educational for the Australian division of award-winning independent travel company Travel Counsellors.

Five lucky Travel Counsellors took part in an action-packed five day trip organised in conjunction with Malaysian Tourism & Tour East, which included no less than eleven hotel and resort inspections.

Travel Counsellors Scott Mayne and Kylie Petit from Brisbane, Adam Egan from Wagga Wagga, Christine Jenkins from Melbourne and Nathan Kenny from Bathurst each own a travel business franchise with Travel Counsellors, which has over 1,100 home working travel advisors worldwide.

The highlight for Bathurst based Travel Counsellor Nathan Kenny was a visit to the five star Four Seasons Langkawi resort. Nathan comments; “The educational was excellent compared to others I have done with previous companies. It was great to experience the destination in a small group, and fantastic to spend time with fellow Travel Counsellors. The level of interaction, camaraderie and genuine interest we have in each other’s businesses is extremely valuable, and I’m looking forward to using the first-hand knowledge I have gained to advise my clients on holidaying in Malaysia going forward.”

Travel Counsellors’ Australia was set up in 2007 and now has over 130 Travel Counsellors across the county, supported by 10 head office staff in Melbourne and a further 174 staff from the company’s UK head office in Bolton, England.

Travel Counsellors’ founder and Chairman David Speakman says; “Travel Counsellors prides itself on the knowledge and level of service offered by all its travel advisors, who are encouraged to take advantage of relevant trips to really develop their understanding of a range of destinations and holiday choices. We hope this will be the first of many educational trips for our Travel Counsellors working here in Australia.”
