Last month sales figures rocketed at Travel Counsellors, smashing through sales targets and breaking company records. The company, which supports over 100 home based travel agents across the country, celebrated the best month in the Australia division's history with over $3.8 million in sales in July, representing a 129% increase on the same month last year. With sales of over $27 million to date in this financial year, Travel Counsellors Australia has already smashed last year's financial year end figure of A$19 million, with a projected year end figure of A$50 million by 31 October 2010. General Manager Cathy Burke comments; "The latest results are fantastic and our business model continues to thrive because of the emphasis on personal service. Our customers are looking for a travel service that goes above and beyond. These sales figures prove that the travel industry is still flourishing for agents who can be there for their customers, and for those who have the drive to provide a unique level of personal service so those customers keep coming back." Now operating in seven countries, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Canada, USA and South Africa, the Australian team all joined in the global celebrations on Friday 16 July, which will go down in the company's history as the second fastest million made in one day. As the clock struck 15.36 GMT, Travel Counsellors worldwide celebrated £1 million (over A$1.7 million) in sales, beating the previous second best time of 15.53 GMT by 17 minutes. The company's agents are also reaping the benefits of these booming sales, with the average income per Travel Counsellor up by 20% worldwide. "Our sales continue to grow from strength to strength here in Australia" continues Cathy Burke "and we expect this trend to continue. It really does prove that with the right training and support, the best agents can thrive in an industry they love. |
