Australasia's largest supplier of international rail travel, Rail Plus, has produced a 12-point pamphlet encouraging corporate agents to "skip the plane, enjoy Europe and travel by train".

The pamphlet focuses on the high speed rail networks of Eurostar, TGV, Thalys, TGV Lyria, Frecciarossa and Frecciargento, ICE and AVE.

Routes, frequencies, travel time details, simple tables with check-boxed features, and the advantages of each service for First and Second Class travel are displayed in the pamphlet.

The 12 reasons identified by Rail Plus are:

• Work on board
• Arrive in the heart of the city
• Enjoy a seamless travel experience
• Access to international airports
• Easy access across Europe
• Travel in comfort
• Enjoy flexibility, and
• Environmentally friendly

All 12 reasons were important to time-poor corporate travellers, Rail Plus National Sales and Marketing Manager, Greg McCallum said.

"This is an easy-to-understand, handy tool for consultants specialising in corporate travel, although most reasons are important to leisure travellers as well," Mr McCallum said.

"[The pamphlet] is a matter-of-fact sales document we have developed in association with Rail Europe.

"High-speed is enjoying strong growth because of the expanding high-speed networks in recent years and the broadening appreciation of the benefits by busy business travellers, " Mr McCallum said.

T he word-of-mouth endorsement by customers is partly due to the Rail Plus agency educational program "because [agency] consultants now have a better knowledge about the product," Mr McCallum noted.
