Air France KLM appoints new Air France KLM Country Manager for Australia

Wednesday, 11 August 2010

AIR FRANCE KLM has appointed Mr. Thomas Reeves as the new Country Manager for Australia with effect from 15 August 2010. He will succeed Mr. Jean-Luc Mevellec who will take on new challenges in his new appointment as Global Account Manager of Air France and KLM based in Paris.

Mr. Reeves joined AIR FRANCE in August 2005 as Head of Sales in the United Kingdom. Subsequently he held the position of AIR FRANCE KLM’s Head of Business Sales for the UK based in London and spearheaded the successful structural integration process of AIR FRANCE and KLM’s UK sales organizations. Prior to joining AIR FRANCE KLM, he was the UK Corporate Sales Manager for American Airlines.

Mr. Reeves’s extensive knowledge and experience in the air transport industry, coupled with his dedication and management skills in Sales and Distribution, Marketing, and Strategic Partnerships place him in good stead to face the challenges in his new role.

“As a priority, I will focus on building on our market leading positions in offering long-haul travel to Europe through our air hubs in Paris and Amsterdam. Innovative pricing and marketing strategies coupled with the experience delivered by our AIR FRANCE KLM team will drive this effort.”

Mr. Reeves says continuing for the airline group to change and evolve its business to meet the needs of customers will be a key challenge. He adds, “We have strengthened this ability over the past few years, but must keep exceeding our customers’ expectations to ensure we remain their airline of choice. Furthermore, we must continue to grow our long haul business and a strong focus will be placed on identifying potential capacity expansion and new route opportunities.”
