China Southern Airlines wishes to advise the introduction of a simplified assessment concept for Fuel Surcharges applying to International routes.

Importantly, the simplified concept may deliver reductions of up to 50%.

The new concept is as follows and will be calculated by your GDS;

1. The Fuel surcharge is assessed by total “direction” travelled.
2. Calculation:
   • Long Sector* + Long Sector: the charge is CNY1000 only for whole “direction”.
   • Long Sector + Short Sector**: charge the fuel surcharge of the Long Sector only for the whole “direction”
   • Short Sector + Short Sector: charge CNY400 only for the whole “direction”

*Long Sector: between China and Europe/America/Australia/Africa and vv.

**Short Sector: between China and Southeast Asia/South Asia Subcontinent/Mid-east/Russia/Azerbaijan/Japan/Korea and vv.

The amendments are already active in GDS/CRS.
