Not one, but two Queens will make their way to Australia next February as Cunard Line announces new coastal fares between Sydney and Fremantle aboard its luxury cruise liners, Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary 2. As part of her one hundred and three day world odyssey, the Queen Elizabeth will begin her maiden visit to Australia in Sydney, offering guests a seven-night voyage, making port at Melbourne, before continuing on to Fremantle in Western Australia. Her journey begins February 22, 2011 with fares from $2499* per person twin share. The Queen Mary 2 will embark upon a journey of her own as she farewells Fremantle on February 17, 2011 for a five-night adventure, calling at Adelaide, bound for Sydney. Fares begin at $1809* per person twin share. A royal rendezvous is destined, as both Queens of the ocean drop anchor on February 22, 2011 in Sydney Harbour. The Queen Elizabeth has a capacity for over two thousand guests, claiming the title of second largest Cunard ship ever constructed and being the third new ocean liner to be introduced by Cunard in just six years. The colossal vessel pays homage to the original Queen Elizabeth, offering guests renowned Cunard attributes and boasting elegant double and triple height rooms, rich with hand-woven carpets, wood panelling and a spectrum of culinary delights including the Verandah Grills and Britannia Restaurant. During her fourth expedition to Australia, the Queen Mary 2 will afford passengers extravagance at sea with a crew of over one thousand, servicing more than two and a half thousand guests. Vacationers can choose to dine in luxury at one of the ten restaurants, submerge their stresses at any of the five pools onboard, dance the night away in the largest ballroom at sea, read and rejuvenate in the grandest library on water or visit the world's first floating planetarium. * Fares are subject to availability and conditions apply. |
