Full-Day City Escape Getaways to Bear Mountain State Park Celebrating
Oktoberfest Occur Saturdays & Sundays from September 18 - October 24

Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises at 42nd Street, operator of New York City's most famous boat ride, marks the annual Bear Mountain Cruises on weekends this fall, September 18 through October 24, 2010. During these special cruises, guests enjoy a leisurely sail along the Hudson River on one of Circle Line's newest boats, docking for an afternoon at Bear Mountain State Park.  At the park, guests may enjoy Oktoberfest festivities with live music, dancing, craft vendors and more. Passengers may pre-order a picnic lunch*, which costs $13.50, or they may choose from a selection of authentic German food and beer, for purchase at Oktoberfest.

"Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises continues to explore avenues for New Yorkers and visitors to experience New York from a new perspective at a great value," said Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises Vice President and General Manager Andreas Sappok.  "The Bear Mountain Cruises are even more unique for our guests as Circle Line has exclusive use of Bear Mountain's dock on the weekends, allowing us to serve as the only water transportation from NYC during the park's Oktoberfest weekends."

The Bear Mountain Cruises provide passengers a convenient getaway from the city, replacing typical transportation hassles like crowded trains and heavy traffic with a relaxing cruise atmosphere, with sights such as Grant's Tomb, the Cloisters, the George Washington Bridge and during certain times, fall foliage.  Bear Mountain State park is located in Westchester County, 45 miles north of Manhattan, and is named for its shape that resembles a sleeping bear.  In addition to Oktoberfest, travelers may enjoy a full day of sightseeing, shaded picnic groves, fall foliage, a historic merry-go-round, hiking and more. Admission to the Oktoberfest and the park is complimentary.

Boarding for the all-day cruises begins at 8:30 a.m. at Pier 83 at West 42nd with the cruise departing at 9 a.m. sharp and returning at 5:30 pm. The voyage along the Hudson River is approximately a two and half hour sightseeing journey, in both directions, and guests will have around three to three and half hours to explore Bear Mountain State Park.

Tickets for adults cost $49, seniors $40 and children $30.
