Identity makeover for Britons

Wednesday, 1 September 2010

The UK government is cashing out £400 million for a complete physical makeover of their citizens, a complete makeover of their passport that is.

The decision to redesign and implement a new security upgrade to British passports came after Israeli assassins stole the identities of six Britons to murder a Palestinian leader in Dubai. The Mirror reported.

An extra photo, repositioning of holders details and two pages of intricate pictures of British landscapes are just a few of the new features inside the new passport available from October.

Britons can also rest safe with the new security chip containing holder’s personal information hidden away inside the passport cover.

“The new design is part of our strategy to stay ahead of criminals who look to fraudulently alter or copy passports,” Identity and Passport Service Chief Executive Sarah Rapson said.
