Taking place at Helm Bar & Bistro on Tuesday, November 9, at 7.00pm, this wine and cheese appreciation event promises to be a deliciously educational evening on two of Australia's favourite indulgences - wine and cheese. Helm Bar & Bistro has teamed up with accomplished cheese expert Claudia McIntosh of McIntosh & Bowman, who will host the evening in conjunction with Damian Monahan of the award-winning Australian owned Blue Pyrenees Winery. Accessible to everyone and incredible value at just $20 per person, this event gives the opportunity to talk, taste, and tune your tastebuds in learning the art of wine and cheese matching from some of the best in the business. The event will showcase four of the most popular Blue Pyrenees varietals - a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay Shiraz, and Botrytis Semillon - that have been matched by Claudia McIntosh to a hand picked selection of sumptuous, quality cheeses. Guests will be invited to sample and savour as the complementary characteristics of each wine and cheese are candidly explained and discussed by the two experienced hosts. Claudia McIntosh, who holds a high distinction Diploma from the respected UK Cheese Guild, is also the director of 'McIntosh & Bowman Cheesemongers' - a cheese education and appreciation company that promote artisan and farmhouse cheeses produced by the best cheese makers from Australia and around the world. Claudia will be sharing in her extensive cheese knowledge along with wine specialist Damian, who together will introduce guests to some great new flavours and combinations.
