CHINA New Role Underlines Group's Growing Brand Footprint

Langham Hotels International has demonstrated its commitment to the China market with the appointment of Justine Lee to the newly-created role of Director of Sales - China, ahead of the company's rapid expansion.

The appointment to lead the sales drive in Langham's fastest growing market coincides with the opening of the first Langham Place in China at Beijing Capital Airport, the third property in the country for the fast-growing luxury hotel operator. China forms the backbone of Langham's expansion in Asia accounting for almost half its hotels open or in the pipeline.

Taiwanese national, Ms Lee will play a key role in supporting the new hotels both pre- and post opening as well as working closely with existing properties to drive new business. She will also oversee and lead the global sales offices in Beijing and Shanghai, cementing and developing relationships with regional corporate accounts, as well as key tour and travel operators.

Ms Lee brings in-depth experience garnered over the last 5 years in China making her perfectly placed to develop the growing outbound markets to other Langham destinations through her carefully cultivated extensive network of tour operators, wholesalers and overseas operators.

Alison Styles, Vice President - Sales for Langham Hotels International said: "The creation of this key sales appointment demonstrates how important we view China and it's future potential. Her appointment will allow us to pursue key growth opportunities in the region as part of our company strategy. Justine will also focus on building partnerships and sales opportunities in the domestic market while capitalising on the growing outbound business from China."
