Intrepid Connections Brochure

Intrepid Connections has launched its first Australia and New Zealand brochure since APT and Intrepid Travel formed a joint venture earlier this year.

The new brochure features 18 new trips, including trips in Intrepid Travel's home state of Victoria for the first time in its 21 year history. The brochure also features new trips in Central Australia, the Top End, The Kimberley, Western Australia, South Australia, New South Wales and Tasmania.

In addition to longer, overland trips that appeal to the backpacker market, the expanded product range woos time poor professionals and international visitors who want to fly to key cities and enjoy a two to five day unique holiday experience that emphasises real life experiences. For the international market, these trips can be added together to form a tailored Australia experience, flying in and out of key destinations.

Some short break highlights include:

  • A Kakadu tour utilising Guluyambi River Cruises, an indigenous owned and operated enterprise.
  • A four day Sydney Bush Experience that includes a farmstay and night in a real Australian country pub.
  • A two day Experience Sydney trip that combines three existing Urban Adventures into a package along with local transport tickets.
  • A three day Flinders Ranges and Outback holiday that includes a wine tasting in the Clare Valley.
  • A four day Melbourne to Adelaide trip that includes mountain bike riding in The Grampians National Park and hiking sections of the Great Ocean Walk.

A further eight new trips will be offered via the web only.

The brochure also includes both comfort and basix trips in New Zealand. These trips were announced in July 2010 and are aimed at the baby boomer and backpacker markets respectively.

"We're pleased that our relationship with APT has allowed us to offer a more extensive Australia and New Zealand range in 2011. It's particularly exciting to be showing off our home state of Victoria for the very first time," said General Manager, Global Sales, James Thornton.

"It's great that after only nine months the Joint Venture is able to offer a really extensive range of experiential product in Australia and New Zealand. It bodes well for the future and we're looking forward to watching the joint venture grow," said Jacquie Burnside, General Manager, Intrepid Connections.
