The 2010 Sydney Latin American Film Festival is here!

Friday, 3 September 2010

Movidas Journeys are proud sponsors of the festival and are serving up a special treat on Sunday 5th September -  ‘Gourmet Cinema’, a delicious two-part event that will give the audience a taste of Peru.  Audiences will be treated to the Australian premiere screening of an award winning Peruvian documentary taking food lovers on a journey through the cuisine that is turning heads in the international food arena -Peruvian cuisine.

Screening at 1:45pm, ‘Cooking up Dreams’ -a film directed by Ernesto Cabellos, questions whether an entire nation can be represented through its cuisine. From the most humble family kitchens to the most exclusive restaurants; from stories of pioneering Peruvian chefs abroad to the unsung chefs who preserve ancient recipes at home; we find that Peru’s cuisine is a delectable summary of its people and their history.

Following this palette teasing film, audiences can expect their taste buds to be delighted. Chef Alejandro Saravia, will take us on a gourmet tour to Peru by utilizing our 5 senses, covering Coast, Andean Sierras and Amazon Jungles. Inspired by the film Chef Saravia will guide us on a journey to discover "A taste of PERú".

He will also whet the appetites of globetrotters and foodies alike to perhaps join him on a gourmet tour of Peru organised by Movidas Journeys, specialists in travel to Latin America!
