New site gets two thumbs up from industry

Friday, 3 September 2010

e-Travel Blackboard launched its next generation Australian trade website with a brand new look this week, giving readers travel news your way, and is already reaping benefits from industry feedback.

The revamped site gained rave reviews from readers on launch day, Wednesday 1 September, causing a massive influx of visitors to the website.

On average, e-Travel Blackboard receives a click through of approximately 17,000 unique articles, however, this spiked on Wednesday climbing 15 per cent to over 19,000.

Google Analytics verified the phenomenal statistics showing an overall site traffic increase of 16.98 per cent.

Even more remarkable, overall article hits increased a whopping 52 per cent from an average article click count of 42,000 news stories read, to a massive 64,000 being read on September 1.

“The statistics show more people visited the website after the launch and they stayed on the website longer, reading more stories than usual,” Editor, Daisy Melwani said.

Social media websites this week were buzzing with reader recommended stories from e-Travel Blackboard, which have since been linked to almost 300 popular sites including Facebook and Twitter.

Following the launch, e-Travel Blackboard also experienced a surge in interest from new readers who went on to subscribe to the free newsletter in droves.

The phone has also been ringing off the hook at the e-Travel Blackboard headquarters in Sydney with a number of advertising enquiries, proving the new look and feel has resulted in a positive effect in gaining new clients keen to be a part of the news industry revolution.

“After 12 months of researching our company statistics and the behaviours of our readers each news category on the website has been positioned accordingly,” General Manager Anthony Valeriano said.

“The newsletter has now been strategically broken down in three broad group, news, classifieds and time out, which works best in an online sphere.”

Readers are reminded that not only are all their favourites still there, it is even easier for them to navigate through the site, allowing for more time to keep up to date with the latest news affecting the travel industry.

It was also noted, the most read section, showing stories from today, the past seven and previous 30 days has also been a major drawcard for readers using the site this week.

Advertisers are reminded that every single article published on e-Travel Blackboard is automatically picked up by major search engines indexing the website, including Google, Yahoo and Bing, which effectively increases advertiser ranking and scope online.
