Dear Daisy, 2010 is passing by at lightning speed; does time go by faster as we get older?

Dear Daisy,

2010 is passing by at lightning speed; does time go by faster as we get older?

Marty McFly, QLD

Dear Marty,

According to the movie from which your name derives, shouldn't we all be flying around in DeLorian's in a few years?   That would be so cool.

The short answer to your question is yes.  Time definitely goes by faster as we get older, can't you recall how summer holidays used to seem like an eternity, and now two months pass without so much as a flinch?

These days I can't remember what I had for dinner last night; let alone what I did last week.  Wait, that's old-age memory, not necessarily the reason why weeks are blurring together each month.  Clearly, the Gingko isn't working.

So what else is there to do about it?  Stop and smell the daisies, so to speak.  Get out there and make the most of your passing days, weeks, months … before long we'll be ringing in 2011 and the cycle will continue.

So as a good Samaritan, I'm going to give you a kick start to appreciating the remaining months of 2010.

Spring is in the air, Father's Day around the corner and what better way to put two and two together for all you lazy gift-givers than to enter my very own Dear Daisy Competition!

The rules are simple, send me a proper question, and the first 10 recipients will receive double passes to a great day out at NSW's largest Australian Springtime Flora Festival next weekend www.florafestival.com.au, courtesy of Central Coast Tourism.

It's not brain surgery, just a quick question - that's all, and be sure to include your 'real' email address: Submit questions here

Looking forward to getting some good responses to brighten up my Friday!
