APG activate its one thousandth IBCS contract

Monday, 6 September 2010

“A real success story, and a historic day for APG and the APG GA network,” exclaims Sandrine de SAINT SAUVEUR, President & CEO of APG France.

APG has just reached the milestone of 1000 active contracts for its most important product: IBCS (IATA BSP Consolidator System).

IBCS was created 10 years ago by APG in close collaboration with IATA, and is commercialised through the worldwide network of APG Global Associates, composed of 89 members present in 145 countries.  IBCS allows airlines access to the 87 IATA BSP, on a variable cost basis.

With IBCS, airlines that are already present in 10 BSP can, for only 1000 USD in joining fees, enter an additional 5 BSP of their choice.  For other airlines, the joining fee is 1000 USD per BSP.  APG DS, based in Paris, handles the commercial and administrative aspects of this product,” explains Emilie BIGGERSTAFF, General Director of APG DS (Distribution System).

“We are so proud to have achieved this goal of 1000 IBCS simultaneously activated contracts, for 146 different airlines in 74 different BSP.  IBCS has proven to be the most indispensable distribution tool that airlines use to generate sales in their secondary markets,” say Sandrine de SAINT SAUVEUR before closing : “This thousandth contract clearly illustrates our expertise, the strength of our network, and our unbeatable competence, especially on complex BSP, such as Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Poland, Morocco, Tunisia, etc…”
