Shareholders give JTG/Stella merger the green light

Monday, 6 September 2010

Jetset Travelworld (JTG) shareholders voted in favour of the proposed merger with Stella Travel Services at a General Meeting in Sydney this morning.

Tom Dery, Jetset Travelworld’s Chairman said, “we are delighted that we have received shareholder approval for the merger and are now looking forward to getting on with the job.”

During the meeting it was confirmed that Stella's CEO Peter Lazaze will head up the Jetset Travelworld Group and that Elizabeth Gaines will be appointed as CFO.

Chief Executive Officer elect, Peter Lacaze told e-Travel Blackboard that today’s outcome was another step in the right direction.

He added that he “would like to thank the people in both businesses who have been involved in the merger process thus far.”

“I am excited to be taking the reins on 1 October 2010 which is when the real work will begin to drive the merged group forward as one of the leading travel services companies in Australia and New Zealand.”
