Dubai deemed favourite tourist destination
Dubai is quickly becoming one of the world's favourite tourist hot spots after experiencing a seven percent increase in tourism during the first five months of this year.
According to Dubai Tour Company more and more people are travelling to Dubai not only to experience the shopping and history offered in other destinations but the untouched desert limited to the Gulf.
Figured released by Dubai Commerce and Tourism Development Authority showed European travellers making up the highest percentage of total tourists at 46 percent, 25 percent are Gulf Corporation Council travellers, 14 percent from Asia and 10 percent from other Arab countries.
The group also found hotel occupancy rates increased by 3 percent from same time last year.
"The total number of guests staying in the emirate's hotels and hotel apartments reached 637 390, a seven percent increase compared to the 594 105 guests reported for the same period in 2009," Dubai Commerce and Tourism Development Authority said.
