Universal Studios Hollywood announced it has reserved Gate 7 for marketing and sales communication representation for Australia. The account will be managed by Delta Airlines and Air New Zealand member Danielle Tuffield to dedicate sales to the growing number of Aussie visitors into LA, TravMedia reported. “Australia is now the number one source of international visitors to Los Angeles,” Universal Studios Hollywood VP of sales Thomas See said. “Universal Studios Hollywood has always enjoyed strong visitation from the Australian market, but we believe with a dedicated sales force in Australia, we can continue to aggressively grow these numbers.” Ms Tuffield said the studios’ recently added attraction ‘King Kong 360 3-D, created by Peter Jackson’, provides the movie park an opportunity to educate agents as well as excite visitors. "Australians love television and movies,” Ms Tuffield said. “A visit to Universal Studios Hollywood is a key attraction for any Australian visiting Los Angeles. We want travel agents to know what rides, shows and attractions visitors can experience at Universal Studios and how the park fits into the greater Hollywood experience. “We'll make it easier for the industry to understand selling L.A.” Figures from the Los Angeles Convention and Visitors Bureau said there was a 46 percent increase in Australian visiting LA in 2010, making Aussies the number one international visitors into the city for the year. |
