Leading travel PR agency Gate 7 has been named as Rocky Mountaineer’s agency in Australia and New Zealand. Gate 7 will implement a strategic outreach campaign to educate and communicate with media and consumers on the wide variety of options Rocky Mountaineer can offer international visitors. Media relations efforts will be focused on strengthening Rocky Mountaineer’s traditionally strong core market as well as identifying and tapping into new market opportunities. Rocky Mountaineer Vice President, Global Marketing, Hubert Wat identified the potential for growth from Australia, “Australian outbound travel has never been stronger and it continues to grow. Australian 2010 travel figures to Canada were up more than twelve percent and with the Australian dollar at its strongest levels against the Canadian dollar since 2004 there is good value for Australian travellers.” The account will be managed by Alison Scott who says she is looking forward to working with the Australian and New Zealand media to showcase the range of Rocky Mountaineer’s product. “Australian’s have an affinity for Canada with over 200,000 Australians visiting each year. For many of these visitors, Rocky Mountaineer is already an integral part of any Canadian trip. We will aim to grow these passenger numbers by working with our media partners to show how breathtaking the journey is and how the flexibility of Rocky Mountaineer’s services allows it to be incorporated into any Canadian holiday. There are a multitude of rail and vacation options including the three and a half hour Sea to Sky Climb from Vancouver to Whistler and the two day daylight journeys to Banff and Jasper, which can be coupled with multiple day excursions and adventures, plus overnight accommodation at some of Canada’s most iconic properties.” |
