Indonesia’s national airline, Garuda Indonesia, has appointed Ibu (Mrs) Fairus Safira as its new Airport Manager for Perth.

Ibu Fairus brings a wealth of experience to the Perth appointment having joined Garuda Indonesia in 1993. She has more than 18 years experience, including 14 years in ground support before her promotion to Duty Manager.

Ibu Fairus worked as the Station Operations Manager at Cengkareng International Airport prior to landing a role in Perth where she was appointed as a Station Manager in 2011.

Ibu Fairus Safira said: “I’m looking forward to continuing to achieve a high level of service for our customers and maintaining our high level of safety whilst ensuring our services operate at an all-time best, exceeding industry standards.

Commenting on the recent appointment, Mr. Syahrul Tahir, General Manager Western Australia Garuda Indonesia said: “At Garuda Indonesia we are constantly investing in our employees to ensure the highest quality service experience for our passengers.”

Ibu Safira commented: “It’s an exciting time to be joining the team here in Perth. There’s no doubt that we’re one of the main international gateways to Indonesia and Garuda Indonesia is helping travellers to discover more of Indonesia beyond Bali.

“It’s not only about the destination though; it all starts on the flight itself. Garuda Indonesia provides a unique Indonesian experience for both leisure and business travellers.”

Ibu Fairus’s appointment as Perth Airport Manager has been effective since 11th November 2010.

In December 2009, the airline was also upgraded to a four-star rating by Skytrax, the global benchmark for airline service standards, emphasising the improvement in its front-line product and service quality.
