JAL Group Announces Plans for More Extra Flights, Temporary Suspension and Decrease in Frequency of Scheduled Domestic Flights

Thursday, 24 March 2011

JAL Group has been utilizing its resources to support the early restoration of the Tohoku region that was most affected by the recent disaster. In addition to operating 435 extra flights to the north eastern part of Japan between March 12 and 26, JAL further increased capacity to approximately 45,000 seats during this period by scheduling larger aircraft on these routes.

JAL decided today, to operate more extra flights between March 27 and 31 to airports in Tohoku, providing some 15,000 seats a day one way. To facilitate the operation of these supplementary flights, flight frequency on a portion of domestic routes will be reduced, while the temporary suspension of flights to Sendai will be extended to April 28, 2011.

JAL seeks the kind understanding and cooperation of customers affected by the changes, and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
