We are seeing a lot of customers making quotes but not wanting to pay as they think the Dollar will get stronger. Unfortunately if we don’t receive payment then we feel some may not receive their choice of vehicle because some countries are starting to put restrictions on the type of vehicles they have available. Many favoured destinations, especially in Europe and the USA are now placing stop sells on some of their vehicles as they are filling up for Summer. Even though we are still a couple of months away from the key Summer Season with more people travelling as a result of the Dollar it is putting a greater strain on the fleets of rental companies at a period when they traditionally sell out anyway.

Frape adds, “Whilst it may be very tempting to hold off and get a better price nearer the time it carries a lot of risk that either the exchange rate might not be as good, the cars might not be available, or more than likely any gain in exchange rate will have been offset by an increase in price. With many fleets have flexible pricing these days they often change without notice and like airline seats, once that deal has sold out, it won’t be coming back and you will end up paying more.
