Carolynne Cannon; Marietta Mandl; Andrea Beck; Daniela Tatonetti and Kathy Purves. |
“This is the first time we’ve done anything like this and we were all decided to set a realistic figure but before we knew it we’d raised $1,500, so decided to aim for $2,000 but we blew that out of the water too, thanks to the support of our clients, partner suppliers and the community at large.”
Kerri Pilcher, TravelManagers representative for Kinross says they were all thrilled to finish on $3001.00
“It was triple our original target which is a fantastic effort. We all just loved being involved, it was so much fun and there’s a real sense of pride in doing something like this, not only of ourselves but of being part of an organisation that supports us getting involved in this sort of thing.”
Carolynne Cannon, TravelManagers representative for Mindarie says they were amazed at the level of support they received from local businesses.
“Not only did they help us out with room hire, many gave donations in the form of goods and services. It’s such a special community, they really care. It’s a great place to live and work as a personal travel manager.”
Sponsors included the Joondalup Business Centre, IGA Kinross, Babygems handmade jewellery, Nutrimetics, CATS (Caring About Total Strangers), Artistry (represented by Luiza DaSilva) and Sunlover Holidays.
Kathy Purves TravelManagers representative for Ellenbrook says approximately 60 guests attended the event which was held at the Joondalup Business Centre.
“We were rapt with the numbers which were made up of clients, travel industry suppliers, family, friends and office tenants. We really turned it on with a sumptuous spread as well as the opportunity to win a variety of prizes in the raffles which were drawn on the day.”
Alison Hill the Business Partnership Manager for TravelManagers in Western and South Australia says being a good corporate citizen is hugely important.
“Being a personal travel manager involves being hugely connected with the community within which you work and live. So undertaking an activity such as this is not only crucial to TravelManagers’ values, but those of our personal travel managers also. The way they all got behind this is a true indication of the type of personal travel manager we have, they really care, they go the extra mile all the time and they love to get stuck in and make a difference while having fun.”
