Indonesia’s national carrier, Garuda Indonesia, has announced increases to flight frequencies on the Hong Kong and Bangkok routes to a double daily service from Jakarta, from today. Lifting the existing capacity to 14 flights a week for each route, the new services will provide Australian travellers with more expediency when connecting via the airline’s hub into North and South East Asia. Commenting on the airlines network expansion, Bagus Y. Siregar, Senior General Manager Australia/SWP Garuda Indonesia said: “The new double daily flights to Hong Kong will provide Australians with easy access to our vast network while offering a smooth and seamless connection via Asia’s newest gateway, Jakarta. “Our passengers travelling from Sydney to Hong Kong now have a speedy connection time of only an hour.” Garuda Indonesia has also revised its services to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur allowing passengers throughout the entire region to be serviced more efficiently. “This year, the focus in Australia will be to improve our current market share for Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong routes. I’m confident the team in Australia will be able to increase Garuda’s profile within these key markets,” said Mr Siregar. To celebrate the launch of increased flight frequencies and better connection times throughout North and South East Asia, Garuda Indonesia has released a series of promotional fares in both Executive and Economy class. The corporate business traveller can take advantage of exceptional Executive Class fares to Hong Kong which start from $2,775 return including taxes, or to Kuala Lumpur starting from $2,476 return including taxes (ex-Sydney and Melbourne).
