:: Rail Europe treks into Sydney::

Agents and wholesalers were introduced to a world of quality, cheap and easy to book rail last night, as Rail Europe unveiled an array of new developments in the sector.

While nibbling delectable entree’s, sipping on wine and keeping toasty warm by the fire in the James Cook Room at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth all eyes and ears were fixated on the competitive prices the rail Group is preparing to roll out into the Australian market.

Rail Europe Australasia manager Richard Leonard explained that the company’s intimate relationship with Association of Train Operating Companies in the UK allows it to offer Australians agents and wholesalers access to “second to none” prices.

Customers in Oz can now see discounts of up to 15-60 percent on advanced bookings.

Mr Leonard added that although the new system would allow agents to book second class trips between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh Waverly from as little as $37, the flip side is that payment needs to be made up front.

However, he explained that the Australian market is now in the habit of booking on the spot for quality products with cheap prices and these two elements are reflected in the new product.
