California in convoy

Sydney-based Prancing Horse Drive Experiences is one of the stars of a 10-episode, prime time sweep across Australia on TV1 in New Zealand, Australia’s largest tourism market.

Backed by Tourism Australia and Air New Zealand, the series shows Kiwi actors, sports stars and broadcasters enjoying a range of exciting holiday activities from Port Arthur in the south to Broome in the north.

The Prancing Horse segment, to screen on Saturday July 16, shows former All Blacks Josh Kronfeld and Frank Bunce, driving four different models of the famed Ferrari marque along Grand Pacific Drive and the sweeping escarpment roads behind Wollongong.

The 30-minute episode will be seen by up to 800,000 New Zealanders, many of them in the key 25-64 age group targeted by Tourism Australia.  The cars driven by Josh and Frank are the latest Ferrari California, a 2007 F430 Coupe, 2002 360F1 Spider and the classic 1998 328 GTS made famous in the Magnum PI television series.

The 300km drive experiences sell for $990 per person for a full day or $2980 per couple for an overnight experience staying at a boutique South Coast hotel with 3-course meals and day spa treatments included.
