Travel Counsellors’ Deb Duncan has joined the company’s head office team in Melbourne to begin work in her new role as General Manager. Deb joins the growing support team at the company’s office, who are all dedicated to helping the company’s agents in Australia in building and developing highly successful travel businesses from home. This includes support in IT, marketing and focused business development programmes catered to each individual agent. Deb brings over 30 years of industry knowledge and expertise to her new role. Starting as a travel consultant to owning her own award-winning travel agency, she was more recently Business Development Manager for Victoria with Travelscene American Express. Deb has also worked from home as a travel consultant, so can certainly bring a wealth of experience to the company’s agents along with driving the business forward and building on its growing success. Deb comments; “It is fantastic to now be in my new role with Travel Counsellors. I am so excited to have joined such a special and dynamic company, with the focus being on supporting our agents so that they can focus on providing excellent service to their customers. I have already met many of our Travel Counsellors and am overwhelmed with the sense of friendship and camaraderie that exists amongst agents and staff. I am so excited to be part of this and to be able to build upon what has already been achieved by the team in Australia.” Deb was introduced to the company in style at its annual Gold Conference, which took place in Dubai in May to congratulate its top performing “Gold Travel Counsellors” and thank them for the important part they have played in the company’s success over the last 12 months. Over 90 Gold Travel Counsellors plus partners and head office staff from Australia and the company’s overseas offices in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, and South Africa had the opportunity to meet Deb and congratulate her on her new role as General Manager of Travel Counsellors Australia. New South Wales based Gold Travel Counsellor Melissa Ingles, who attended the conference, comments; “It was a delight to meet Deb and welcome her to Travel Counsellors. Having her knowledge and experience to steer our TC Australia ship is wonderful news and I am sure she will bring even more focus and energy to our individual businesses. Deb has already taken the time to listen and learn about how we operate as individuals with care and attention, and I am sure she will continue to offer invaluable support in the future.” Gold Travel Counsellor Rosemary Metcalf also comments; “It was an amazing experience to be in Dubai, not only as part of the Travel Counsellors Gold Conference, but because of the opportunity to meet and spend some time with Deb. After a couple of days of sharing the sights and delights of this wonderful city it was clear that Deb is the perfect person to take on the role. With such an inspirational and motivated lady at the helm I have no doubt that Travel Counsellors Australia will continue to grow and provide the support I need to be the best I can be in an industry I love.” Travel Counsellors now has over 90 agents in Australia and a further 300 plus in its overseas operations in the Republic of Ireland, the Netherlands, South Africa, Australia and Canada, accounting for over one third of the company’s Travel Counsellors (over 700 in the UK alone), who are supported by over 200 head office staff based in the UK and overseas. |
