Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Named A “World’s Best” By Travel + Leisure

Wednesday, 20 July 2011

Southwest Florida’s premier luxury leisure resort ranks on the 2011 World’s Best listings

Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa received three top honors from the readers of Travel + Leisure. As a part of the magazine’s sixteenth annual World’s Best Awards survey, readers ranked the AAA Four Diamond resort eighteenth on an exclusive listing of the Top 50 Resorts in the U.S. and Canada and twenty-ninth on a ranking of the U.S. and Canada’s Top 50 Family-Friendly Hotels. The resort also made the magazine’s most coveted list: The Top 100 Hotels in the World.

“We are particularly proud of our recent rankings in Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards because the votes were cast by the magazine’s readers who are some of the most discerning travelers in the world,” said General Manager Joe Murgalo. “These newest accolades are a testament to our team’s commitment to providing a first-class travel experience with authentic hospitality and a fine attention to detail.”

The three honors, which were announced by Travel + Leisure on Friday, helped kick off the momentum for the resort’s highly anticipated tenth anniversary. Since the resort’s grand opening in September 2001, Hyatt Regency Coconut Point has raised the bar for tourism and hospitality in the Southwest Florida area, drawing business and leisure travelers as well as

meeting attendees from all over the world. It should come as no surprise that this community leader, which has hosted a wealth of celebrities and political figures, including the Bush family during the annual Celebration of Reading event, ranked higher than the majority of its local competitors on the 2011 listing. No stranger to the limelight, the resort has accrued a wealth of awards and accolades since its opening ten years ago. Hyatt Regency Coconut Point holds the coveted AAA Four Diamond designation as well as Florida Green Lodging’s prestigious Three Palm eco-friendly certification. The resort was also recently named one of the top five most family-friendly resorts by Southwest Florida Parent & Child.
