In the lap of luxury: Connections Plus 2011

Caroline Aston Suite Bedroom
Suvarnabhumi Airport
A fast-track through the rigmarole of Airport Arrivals, our own butlers, a police escort as we travel through the country: the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has pulled out all the stops to highlight Thailand’s luxury MICE offerings.

We arrived rested from our British Airways flight and were met by the fabulous Thai Elite team as soon as we set foot in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. From the seats of our little buggy we pitied the poor sods who had to hoof the long walk from BA’s parking spot to the business end of the airport.

TCEB’s Australia manager John Boyd told me that this treatment is very much available for conventions and incentives, and even a police escort can be arranged for that special VIP treatment. Little did we know…

Upon arrival at the St Regis Bangkok, we were whisked up to our rooms where we filled out all the normal paperwork from the comfort and opulence of our rooms. After a chat with my butler, a hot bath and a cup of peppermint tea, I sunk into bed, the promise of green papaya salad and another day of bliss my last thoughts before sleep.
