Travel agents can now earn commission on shore tours through the launch of the new tour company; Short Excursions. Short Excursions has recently been established by a previous Director of Carnival Australia who wanted to create a viable alternative for cruise passengers and tour providers. The company offers the widest range of independent cruise tour excursions in the South Pacific – with more tours being added each day. 150 tours are currently available in 15 popular ports of call throughout the South Pacific such as, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji and not forgetting Australia and New Zealand. Each cruise tour is chosen for its value which includes tours for smaller groups, off the beaten track destinations and local tour guides. Unlike most cruise ship organised tours, Travel Agents have the benefit of booking tours through Short Excursions and earning commission for every passenger booked. According to Managing Director of Short Excursions, Mr Michael Ager “Travel agents can now offer a one stop shop when it comes to selling cruising, not only can they offer clients a choice of cruises but they can now provide a choice of on-shore experiences which are great value”. Shore tours through Short Excursions can be booked at the same time as a clients cruise, even if the cruise does not sail for another year. Short Excursions also offers a cancellation policy for passengers up to 48 hours prior to a tour running – making it completely hassle free to book in advance. This, combined with knowing all tours operate within scheduled ship arrival and departure times, alleviates many of the concerns passengers may have about non-ship operated tours. “Our aim is to show cruise passengers a ports true highlights whilst working harmoniously with local tour operators and providing the best value – hassle free tours possible” said Michael Ager. |
