Recruitment/Travel Specialist Joins TravelManagers

Suzanne Laister – National Recruitment Executive

TravelManagers has appointed Suzanne Laister as National Recruitment Executive to replace Aaron Stinson who recently resigned, returning home to Melbourne to pursue a non-travel related career opportunity.

Ms Laister began her new role with a three week handover to ensure a smooth and comprehensive transition. TravelManagers’ executive general manager, Mandy Scotney says Ms Laister comes to TravelManagers with the perfect combination of skills and experience.

“We couldn’t have planned it better if we’d tried; her recruitment industry experience was in the travel industry plus she loves travelling. Suzanne has extensive human resource and travel experience working in both Australia and the UK including time in a travel agency.”

Ms Scotney says they were deliberately looking for this blend of skills.

“This combination is the ultimate in being able to ensure a professional experience from start to finish for new personal travel managers and people wanting to enquire about TravelManagers. Suzanne is fully equipped to anticipate and answer all questions from an HR, consulting and operational perspective. Having worked as a travel consultant she understands the pressures and demands required.”

Ms Laister says she was most impressed with TravelManagers HR commitment to its personal travel managers.

“The support team is hugely impressive, I love the business partnership manager roles and the fact they have them across Australia, that’s fantastic. On top of this the calibre of people they have in marketing, finance, IT and in their wholesale operation is incredible.”

Ms Laister says it is important potential personal travel managers recognise that not all host agencies are the same.

“People need to do their homework, assessing and fully researching the alternatives, ensuring they understand the options available to them, asking lots of questions.”

Ms Laister says in addition to being the market leader in home-based/mobile consulting, the reason she joined the TravelManagers’ team was their recruitment philosophy.
