Strong Aussie dollar helps cut tour prices

The current strength of the Australian dollar has continued to deliver savings on French Travel Connection’s battlefield tour program ex Paris – with the three-day 2012 ANZAC Day tour dropping in price by 30% over the last two years.

Australians are now booking six to eight months ahead to ensure participation in the ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Villers-Brettoneux (France) – site of the 1918 ANZAC Day battle marking the end of the German advance in the Somme. As result, French Travel Connection is urging travellers to act quickly to secure their spot on a 2012 tour.

Prices for next year’s three-day/two-night fully escorted tour ex-Paris start from $925 per person* for two-star B&B accommodation and $1075pp* for three-star hotel accommodation.

Highlights for 2012 include:

•        participation in the official ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Australian National Memorial in Villers-Brettoneux (France)

•        a guided tour of the significant war sites of the Somme

•        two nights’ twin share accommodation in well-located hotels and most meals

•        entry to the Franco Australian Museum and other key museums.

Australians interested in taking a more in-depth look at the history of the region can take French Travel Connection’s five-day ANZAC tour or a 10-day journey, which explores Paris and Belgium and includes expert commentary from a war historian. There are no optional excursion lists or hidden, later-charged extras.

For full details and bookings contact French Travel Connection on 1300 858 304, email info@frenchtravel.com.au or visit www.frenchtravel.com.au.

* Land-only (airfare not included). Based on twin share. Tour runs 24-26 April 2011. Conditions apply.
