Given the multitude of cruising news and events in recent times, this has been a relatively quiet week surprisingly! Celebrity Silhouette was named by godmother and travel agent, Michelle Morgan, in Hamburg last week and, if you missed the live streaming on Facebook, you can view a behind-the-scenes look at the ship and ceremony here. Poolside passengers onboard Carnival Destiny were surprised for the second time in a month by the cruise line with what may be the largest flash mob at sea. 2,000 this time around…how many will it be next time? I was interested to discover the findings of Travel + Leisure’s ‘World’s Best Awards’ earlier this week and, whilst the winners are esteemed lines and well worthy of the praise offered, I just wonder whether there should be an additional category entitled ‘Luxury Cruising’. The more ‘affordable’ brands were seemingly left by the wayside and I, personally, don’t feel that defining ships by size is the most reasonable way of rating a line. What are your thoughts? Yours in cruising,
