Better business, Travelscene agents urged to use in-house wholesaler

The wholesale division for Travelscene American Express, Travelscene Holidays, has reportedly exceeded market expectations increasing business by 25 per cent for the financial year ending 30 June 2011.

At last weekend’s Travelscene National Consultant’s Conference, National Sales Manager, Melissa Watt said niche markets such as cruising, rail and ski were big growth areas for the wholesale division.

“Cruise continues to be the new black, and rail tickets have grown by 8 per cent,” she said.

Changes are planned for when the entire group’s global wholesale operations move centrally in October, which Ms Watt said will offer “far broader range of products which will translate to better buying power and inventory for high yield destinations such as Fiji, Bali and Phuket”.

Using social media to elevate company interaction and incentivise members, Ms Watt encouraged consultants to join the Travelscene Holidays Facebook page which now displays new brochures as well as top selling consultants familiarization photographs.

The company just launched a dedicated Ski Brochure in conjunction with Rail and Cruise.
