Australia’s leading Asia travel specialist, Travel Indochina, has confirmed its exploratory Trans-Mongolian Adventure was such a success it will be run again in 2012.

Scheduled to coincide with the nation’s most colourful and important event, the Naadam Festival, the July tour gave travellers the opportunity to experience the real Mongolia, staying overnight in traditional “gers” and riding rare camels through its wild landscape, as well as participating in Festival celebrations.
Travel Indochina’s Managing Director, Paul Hole, says it is exciting to be adding Mongolia as a permanent fixture to Travel Indochina’s stable of life changing travel experiences.

“Naadam Festival is one of the truly exceptional festivals of the world that is a must-see bucket list item for adventure travellers,” says Paul.

“Our first foray with the exploratory journey in July was a complete success, both from our point of view in ensuring the suitability of the country for small group journeys, and from our travellers’ point of view, who rated their overall satisfaction with the tour a whopping 96%.

“Naadam was singled out as a true highlight – with the opening ceremony, the archery, wrestling and driving along with the horse riders through 20 km of their race before ending up in the winners’ enclosure all ranking highly.

“The gers were also deemed very comfortable, and provided a real insight into local life.

“Finally our Western Tour Leader also scored well, with an overall 97.3% ranking from the passengers on the journey, with particular emphasis on his professionalism and organisational skills, traits we bring to all our Small Group Journeys.”

Travel Indochina’s other exploratory journey, to Bhutan in November, has recently sold out, highlighting the demand for ‘off the beaten track’ style small group journeys to some of the more magical and mystical destinations within Asia.
