New Cash Passport Offers Ultimate in Travel Money Convenience

Friday, 26 August 2011

A new functionality within the Cash Passport will reduce travellers’ exposure to fraud and ensure greater compatibility with a wide range of overseas merchants.

The latest chip & PIN technology is now built into all new Cash Passport cards,  changing the way travellers pay and providing freedom to use the Cash Passport for every point of sale and ATM transaction.

Currently being rolled out, Access Prepaid Global Director Sales and Strategic Relationships, Graham Perry said the new chip & PIN Cash Passport takes travel money convenience to an entirely new level.

“Travellers increasingly prefer to carry foreign currency on a travel card rather than in cash and the chip & PIN functionality ensures the Cash Passport can be used more widely than ever before,” he said.

Industry experts know how difficult it can be travelling with a non-chip & PIN card, particularly when travelling in Europe where merchants have come to rely heavily on this technology in the seven years since it was first rolled out.

“Cash Passport agents can be confident they are offering their customers the best technology in travel cards when recommending the Cash Passport,” Mr Perry said.

“They can be sure the stories they hear on their customers’ return will be about the opulent furnishings at Versailles, not frustration over paying for the ticket to get there.”

“Travellers don’t want to waste their precious holiday time fussing with payment methods,” Mr Perry said.  “It’s a headache lining up to purchase train tickets from an automated machine in Paris for example, only to find the machine won’t accept your card when you get to the front of the line.”

The Cash Passport has long been a cost effective and secure travel money option.

The new Cash Passport now requires a PIN authorisation to complete a transaction and still includes the traditional magnetic strip for those merchants not using the technology.

For added convenience, the Cash Passport is also supported by a 24 hour Card Services Team to assist with emergency cash replacement in the event the card is lost or stolen.
