TravelManagers representative for Balnarring in Victoria, Renee Williams has recently clocked up a monthly commission/margin of $25,000. Ecstatic about the result Ms Williams says the best thing is that her hours remained normal.

“I have earned this type of monthly commission before but the hours were completely different, a minimum of 12 hours a day to achieve the same amount plus I was working in a travel agency so commuting to and from work on top of that.”

Ms Williams says whilst she didn’t have children then, working those sorts of hours now just wouldn’t have been an option.

“The thing I love about being a personal travel manager is that my family truly come first. Having remote access means I can pick and choose my hours around my children and husband so the fact I can earn this level of commission without causing stress on my family, it’s fantastic and it actually feels like I’ve earned $50K!”

Ms Williams has worked in the travel industry for 14 years and with TravelManagers since 2007. She says she the change was brought about because she was looking for a new challenge.

“Deep down I had always wanted to be my own boss and once I learnt about what TravelManagers offered I finally had the courage to have a go. I’ve absolutely made the right decision; it was like seeing the light. I can honestly say I love my job even more since joining TravelManagers.”

Being known for her high level of service was important.

“Becoming a personal travel manager has allowed me to service my clients in a completely different way than I did as a consultant in an agency. I have more time to attend to all the little details I used to want to do in the past but could never find the time for. I’m very proud of how I look after my clients now.”

Ms Williams says the thing that held her back giving it a go was having that belief in herself.

“That’s the message I would give to anyone contemplating becoming a personal travel manager - believe in yourself. The support is outstanding and the supplier relationships that TravelManagers has means my clients get amazing deals. I even take shopping tours to Kuala Lumpur once a year! So much is possible, you’re only limited by your imagination as TravelManagers provide the support to help you grow and develop your business the way you want it to be.”

Ms Williams says joining TravelManagers has also given her balance in her life. 

“It may sound like a cliché but it’s so true. Sure, from time to time you work late to meet the needs of a client but I know that if I need help it is only a phone call away. It’s a very supportive environment based on trust. I am carving a niche for myself in ‘family travel’ as I have three children of my own and my business partnership manager has been helping me with the planning of an exclusive family travel expo in Frankston later in the year. She’s helped with ideas, as a sounding board and connecting me with suppliers. It’s so exciting!”
