Tuesday, 13 September 2011

SmartTravelAsia.com recently released 2011 “Best in Travel Poll” with Bangkok Airways and Samui Airport ranked among the world’s top ten in overall category.

Branded as Asia’s Boutique Airline, Bangkok Airways is ranked 7th place for “Best Cabin Service” Category. This illustrates the airline’s commitment to high quality service provided for all passengers. It is another achievement this year for Bangkok Airways after winning 3rd place for Asia’s Best Regional Airlines by SkyTrax for 2011.

Samui Airport, the only regional airport on the list, has been voted amongst the top ten airports worldwide for the sixth consecutive year obtaining 9th in ranking. The airport serves up to approximately 1.5 million passengers and more than 20,000 flights per year with scheduled services by Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways International, Firefly, Berjaya Air and SilkAir (from 27 September onwards). Samui Airport serves domestic and international direct flights to and from Bangkok, Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Pattaya (U-Tapao), Trat, Singapore, Hong Kong, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur.

The SmartTravelAsia.com 2011 Best in Travel Poll, now in its seventh year, is a distillation of the readers’ perceptions and favorite travel brands. Their opinions are largely based on hands-on travel experience, word-of-mouth, as well as an idea of the brand drawn from advertising and PR in the media. This poll is an annual survey, dividing into different categories such as Hotels, Airlines, Airports and Destinations. For more information, please visit www.smarttravelasia.com
