  ::Sydney-siders taste Flavours of Malaysia::

The gong struck thrice and over 200 industry friends delved in fork first to try a never-ending selection of traditional local cuisine at the launch of the 2011 Malaysian Food Festival.

Hosted at the Grace Hotel in Sydney this year, Tourism Malaysian achieved a true authentic evening, flying in three Malaysian chefs and an exquisite, exotic band for the three-week celebration of the country and its culinary diversity.

Not one attendee walked away last night hungry, with food options ranging from fish and chicken curries, satay barbeque sticks, laksa soups and black glutinous rice for dessert.

Officially open to the public today, the food festival’s launch corresponds with Malaysia’s national day celebrations and will run until 9 October this year.
