I must start by saying that this hip hotel instantly gives the feeling of a boutique accommodation experience in a property much larger than most, of that nature. From the art hanging in the lobby to the feature of classic modern design icons such as spaceship shaped dustbins, large leather daybeds and Eames lounge chairs. It has a distinct modern luxury appeal.

At the intersection of Hollywood and Highland Ave this proud building backs onto the Hollywood hills, allowing lucky guests a view of the iconic Hollywood sign directly from their bedroom window.

Talk about location you are directly at the epicenter of tinsel town with walking access to its many key attractions such as Madame Tussauds and the Chinese Theatre.   It is located smack bang in the movie making capital of the world and right at the nucleus of ‘hollyweird’.

The revolving door at the entrance of the Renaissance hotel is continuously spinning, with revelers making their way out and back in from their moonlit adventures. Being minutes from famous restaurants such as Mel’s diner and hip nightspots, including the now legendary ‘dive bar’ Powerhouse, fast becoming popular with locals and visitors alike.

In fact, the hotel offers everything you would require or desire, when choosing your ideal Los Angeles location. No matter where we headed during our stay, be it to Universal Studios, to Santa Monica beach for a swim or downtown to the Los Angeles art district, it appeared that we were based around 20 minutes from everywhere.

The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel & Spa offers a whopping 637 distinctive guest rooms, 33 suites, and 81 executive large bedrooms suitable for the business or leisure traveller. Whatever room is right for you make sure you request a room with the aforementioned panoramic view of the Hollywood hills, it is simply outstanding.

In addition, some of the hotels facilities include 37inch flatscreen television with HD programming, wireless high speed internet access, a spacious desk with ergonomic chair, easily accessible data ports and power outlets, two-line phones and voice mail, beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the Hollywood sign, in-room dinning service, state of the art fitness centre and gorgeous amenity products.

Perhaps one of the best aspects of the hotel is its connectivity to the new ‘Hollywood and Highland centre’. On the mezzanine level, guests can enjoy their own private access to the center, which offers over 50 high-end retail stores, over 20 restaurants and nightclubs.  This also gives you access to Hollywood Walk of Fame, Madam Tussards, Chinese theatre and El Capitan, which is owned by Disney, and screens Disney premieres and special screenings of popular Disney titles.

This buzzing complex is also connected to the Kodak theatre, home of the academy awards and LA’s hot, new and exclusive Cirque Du Soleil show Iris. The performance combines dance, acrobatics and interactive projections that illustrate the mechanics of cinema. The hotel is celebrating this exciting new production and the helpful concierge team is able to assist booking your seats.

The Renaissance Hollywood and Spa is also home to the world famous Spa Luce, a tranquil European inspired boutique spa tucked away from the hectic life of Hollywood. The naturalistic designed spa is a favourite among A list celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Alicia Silverstone and Jada Pinkett Smith.

Let us not forget to mention also the hotel’s contemporary restaurant Twist that serves up a delicious breakfast.  Twist also caters for lunch and dinner in a modern and stylish setting and is suitable for couples enjoying a special evening, through to corporate business groups and families.  Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck ‘flexes’ his culinary creations and is world famous for his distinctive blend of Asian and Mediterranean cuisine.
