Quay Grand Suites guests attending last night’s launch of ECQ, the apartments’ newly refurbished bar overlooking Sydney harbour, were in for a treat watching Masterchef Judge, George Calombaris preside over a cocktail competition between guests.
As guests enjoyed live music and a sampling of fresh seafood dressed with a $600 bottle of 100-year aged balsamic, the cocktail competition came down to a simple maraschino cherry, which Mr Calombaris flicked aside in his usual jovial Masterchef manner.
ECQ’s impressive makeover designed by Jayne Hamparsum Design, has also extended to changes to the bar’s cocktail list and shared tasting menu. ECQ Bar will also live music sets each Friday and Saturday night, and has daily specials during the week coinciding with the launch.
