Net Trans digs-up NZ, Aus hotel commissions

Monday, 10 October 2011

Aiming to help Australian and New Zealand travel agents chase-up hotel commission, Net Trans has launched its first office down under.

Unveiling its space in Sydney late last week, the hotel commission recovery service said with time restraints placed on agencies, many are unable to follow-up on commission that is owed to them.

An internal company analysis found that up to 40 percent of commission owed by accommodation properties is rarely handed to agencies.

With offices already open in wordwide destinations including UK, Spain, Germany, Singapore and the Philippines, Net Trans chief executive Martin Jorgensen explained last week’s launch symbolised the growing market down under concerned for missing commission.

“Travel agents in the region are realising they are losing a great deal of money in unpaid commissions, which has led to us signing a growing number of them as clients,” Mr Jorgensen said.

“Now that we have a dedicated resource in the region, we are looking forward to working together with many more agencies to help them recover the commission to which they are entitled.”

Assigning Richard Bjorkmann as sales director for Australia and New Zealand, Mr Jorgensen said he was keen to see Net Trans help agents down under increase their commission revenues.

“My target is to make the company just as well-known in Australia and New Zealand as agents realise how much Net Trans can add to their bottom line,” he added.

Net Trans was founded in 1999 and has processed commission for up to 16 million rooms nights for agents in over 90 countries.
