Personal Travel Manager – Daniela Tatonetti

Companies specializing in mobile consulting have been steadily increasing their presence in Australia with at least three additions in the past 18 months. With 40 percent of the finalists being mobile consultants or personal travel managers at the 2011 “AVIS Scholarship of Excellence”, Chief Executive of TravelManagers, Joe Araullo says it highlights the changing nature of travel consulting.

“The role of a personal travel manager or mobile consultant is going from strength to strength and is seen very much as a legitimate career choice for experienced travel consultants but also agency owners and managers. It also illustrates consumer acceptance of this model.”

Mr. Araullo believes that the mobile consulting growth has been largely influenced by technology.

“Similarly to online travel agents our personal travel managers have been enabled by internet technology, the difference being that our personal travel managers are service focused while online travel agents are commodity orientated.”

Daniela Tatonetti, the representative from Western Australia is TravelManagers second finalist in these awards. She has over 15 years’ experience in both corporate and leisure travel. Ms Tatonetti says becoming a personal travel manager has been life changing.

“I couldn’t be happier but interestingly it’s my clients’ reaction to me being a personal travel manager that has been most enlightening to me. While I have always been conscious of going the extra mile, clients see me now as more flexible and able, through TravelManagers’ technology, to assist them when and where they need it. There is a very real sense I am “their” personal travel manager which brings a level of exclusiveness, something corporate clients particularly love.”

Mr. Araullo says TravelManagers is immensely proud to have a second finalist in these prestigious awards.

“Daniela is an outstanding personal travel manager and being named as a finalist is incredibly well deserved. Her sales have gone from strength to strength which is a direct result of the high standard of service she provides her clients and the large number of referrals and repeat business she receives from her clients.”

All five finalists will be flown to Sydney on 8 November to present to members of the Avis Travel Agents Advisory Board, with the 2011 winner announced that evening at the Four Seasons Hotel Sydney.
