Finnair opens route to Dubrovnik in Croatia

Monday, 17 October 2011

In April 2012, Finnair will open a direct route from Helsinki to Dubrovnik, located at the southern tip of Croatia.

Dubrovnik is one of the most prominent tourist destinations on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. This beautiful city is surrounded by verdant nature and a magnificent shoreline. In the words of George Bernard Shaw, who visited the city in 1929, "If you want to see heaven on earth, come to Dubrovnik."

“Finnair is very excited about this new route which reflects how our position in traffic between Asia and Europe is strengthening. To passengers departing from Asia, Finnair offers very fast onward connections to a comprehensive European route network, which Dubrovnik will complement,” says Geoff Stone, Finnair’s Country Sales Manager – Australia and New Zealand.

The route will be flown three times per week in the summer season April 2 – October 10, 2012. Flights to Dubrovnik will commence in the height of summer for the northern hemisphere, which is perfect timing for Finnair passengers.

“The minimum connection time also synchronises this new route with the flight path being in one direction. Long gone are the days of spending hours transferring via London to get to the beautiful European holiday destinations,” Geoff comments.
