France continues to reign supreme as one of the top destinations for Australian visitors, rating Paris as their most desired destination ahead of London and New York, according to French Tourist Office head, Patrick Benhamou.
Speaking at the exclusive premiere of Woody Allen’s latest flick, Midnight in Paris, Mr Benhamou proclaimed it had been “quite a year” so far for the Tourist Office, which hopes to exceed the 600,000 Australians that visited last year.
Mr Benhamou said the additional exposure for the destination from events including this year’s Tour de France, has captivated Australians interest coupled with a high dollar and competitive rates from Air France.
Preliminary talks suggesting bringing back Moulin Rouge performers to Australia in conjunction with the Sofitel was hinted, which would add to the upcoming exhibition of Picasso Masterpieces to be held at the Art Gallery of NSW. |
