A team of Travel Counsellors, with representatives from across all 6 international operations have just returned from a luxury trip to the tropical island of Barbados after winning the company’s ‘TC Battle to Barbados’ football incentive. The company launched a competition in January which saw its 1200 agents divided into 32 teams, each representing a different country, competing against each other to secure the most bookings. The lucky team of twenty, including Australia’s own Romanie Thomas, who scored to success after competing in a series of on-line football matches, winning goals for their teams based on sale hosted on the company’s intranet system, jetted off for a week to stay at the recently redesigned Tamarind Hotel. ‘Team Japan’ enjoyed a number of excursions including diving, wind-surfing, kite surfing, an island safari and a catamaran cruise. They were also treated to a number of hosted dinners including a cocktail party and dinner at Crystal Cove. The trip was hosted in partnership with Elegant Hotels, Barbados Tourism Authority, BA, and Virgin. The winning team captain Travel Counsellor Nicola Benson commented; “We had a truly memorable stay in Barbados, including some amazing trips and experiences, from the Catamaran cruise, 4x4 safari to the surfing and diving lessons. Barbados is a truly beautiful destination and it was so nice to see so much of it. The competition was a great idea and really kept all of us motivated and working hard for sales, and through hard work, determination and working well as a team we proved anyone can win it. To meet and get to know my fellow team members properly was such a pleasure and we all have some fantastic memories to treasure forever.” The Battle to Barbados competition is just one of a number of fun incentives that Travel Counsellors has organised for its agents this year. Sales director Malcolm Hingley said: “The competition was a great success and proved a fantastic way to encourage our Travel Counsellors across the globe to get those all important sales whilst having fun and creating a strong sense of camaraderie. The winning Travel Counsellors were able to soak up the wonders of Barbados and experience first class accommodation. As a company we are firm believers in the fact that you can’t beat first hand experience of a destination. We encourage all our Counsellors to go on educationals so they can give the best possible service to their clients.” |
