LEADING African safari operator Bench International has added new product to its programs in Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Kenya and Tanzania for the 2011 brochure it has just released.

Product director Fiona Orton said that the new product followed an exceptional 2010 year for Bench International with revenue hitting a new record high and volume being higher than for many years.


She said that consumer demand had prompted the addition of new products in Botswana – one a mid-range private game lodge and the other a canoeing adventure in the Selinda reserve.

The three-day stay at Xakanaxa Camp in the heart of the Moremi Game Reserve is one of few properties which can offer a year round Okavango Delta land and water safari experience. The package costs $1460 per person.

The canoe adventure is a five-day package paddling through 45-kilometres the Selinda Spillway for a rare close-up wildlife experience. The deal costs $2475 and includes camping, all meals and house beers and wines, plus return flights to Maun.

Several new prive game reserves have been added to the South African program, there are wider choices available in Zimbabwe following a return of visitors to that country and there’s a new tented safari in Tanzania for two or more people.

There’s also a new walking safari for the Ewaso River region of Kenya and 2010 sees the return of a Kenya/Egypt combination of wildlife and wonders.

In addition to the canoeing in Botswana there’s a new Itenga wildlife safari operating from Windhoek to Victoria Falls through Namibia and Botswana in the Bench adventure program
